What is going on at Tutorial Depot?

It's currently Tuesday, October 14, 2008 and the Tutorial Depot home page says the next release for HTDP is "October 2".

There have not been weekly updates to HTDP since August. And, there have been no updates to the other How-To's in, well, like forever.

As a frequent subscriber to the Premium series, I am genuinely concerned. I am a big fan of your Digital Performer tutorials. They were great.

So, can someone please let us know what the situation is with regard to regular updates for HTDP, as well as the other How-To's?

Thanks.

jjd

EDIT: It's now November 14, 2008--one month after my original posting. Nothing has changed. No news in this case does not look like good news. I hope it's simply a business decision to stop producing new tutorials and nothing more serious. (jjd)

EDIT: It's now January 16, 2009--three months after my original posting. There has been a change on the home page! Wow--now all tutorials show TBA for next release date. The lack of updates and explanation over these many months while still seeming to accept new subscribers is indefensible, in my opinion. (jjd)

Hi jjd,

Sorry for the slow reply on this post.
We did send emails to all of our subscribers regarding our DP HOW TOs before we planned to take the tutorial break. Please note we are NOT adding subscribers to future tutorial podcasts, but actually selling our library of tutorials in bundles. A person who purchases a bundle, gets all the tutorials in that bundle shortly after they submit there order.

We are glad you like our tutorials. They do take a fare amount of time to create, but we are committed to producing high quality tutorials. We are working on new options for the future. We will inform you when new updates are available.

Thanks for your patience and interest.

best,

Steve

Steve,
It's now April 23, 2010. Over a year has passed since your "planned tutorial break". Nothing new in terms of tutorials, announcements, nada. No updates to the website at all in ages ("Upcoming HOW TO: Digital Performer 6 - SESSIONS" on the HTDPINFO.html is really looking stale along with the other TDA/TBA listings on the other pages).

The "newest" HOW TO: Digital Performer-TIPs is dated September 29, 2009 and is item #1 in the "new" DP7 series. It's a trailer (i.e., "ad") for a series that was seemingly dropped from production. Aside from that, it looks like no tutorials for DP have been produced in 2010 (first 1/4) and very few in 2009 when compared to the 2-3 years before that.

This is really not looking good and I think a public facing announcement might actually help.

Are new tutorials currently in the works or have you decided to move on to other endeavors? Hope the former is true but fear it's the latter. (Or, are you still on the "planned tutorial break" and if so, when do you plan to break the break?)

Thanks for your past efforts and best wishes,
Jim
