I've heard about people recording the top and bottom of the snare and would love to see a HOW TO on it.
Tanks again for the cast!

Thanks Brian,
We're in the process of creating a new batch of HOW TO's. I agree, top and bottom snare micing is a technique often used to get that extra snap and 'sizzle' on the snare drum. We'll try to make it happen!
Thanks!

The thing you have to aware of when recording with two mics (top and bottom) is their phase relationship. The resulting sound is a varying comb-filter effect which makes snares sound more hollow and phasey. Simply inverting the phase on the bottom mic doesn't stop this from happening. It's probably better and easier to use a different snare rather than adding a bottom mic.
